Blogging at BFA

I've spent a fun and interesting morning today running a blogging workshop as part of the week-long Rail City Writing Workshop offered for students at the Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, VT. When I arrived here this morning, I noted that the poster for the event this week referred to me as the Blogging Professor, so I thought that would be an ideal title for this new blog. You can usually find me at my main blog, As Canadian As Possible... Under the Circumstances, but I wanted to start a new blog today so that we were all on the same (web)page as we started blogging.

The conversations so far today have been really interesting. I've really enjoyed hearing the thoughts of the students on publishing online, the Internet in general, and on how one's identity is/can be mediated through one's presence on things like Facebook, myspace, or one's blog. Everyone's hard at work on their first blog postings right now, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to say.
